      Hmmm…there’s actually a “Learn” section on the website. Are you on a smartphone or tablet, or on a desktop/laptop? If on a mobile device, look for the three lines to tap on for the menu. Under that Learn section, there are several options, but the beading tutorials are on that drop down menu. Maybe this might be helpful…are you looking for a video, or just the tutorial? On the website, the tutorial is graphics, but I did it in a way that should be intuitive for most artists. I don’t think I ever did a full video tutorial on this one.

    Can't believe you're still using feet and inches. What century is America in?

    • @KatAdair
      @KatAdair 9 месяцев назад

      Agree completely. Outside of these tutorials, I use a metric tape measure, and since I mostly do jewelry tutorials and 3D printing, I work entirely in the metric system. When I was in grade school in Texas, we had a module on the metric system, but after that, I never really used it again. It wasn’t until I started modeling jewelry in ZBrush (www.zbrushjewelry.com) that it started to make sense. Also, when casting jewelry and mixing investment, the investment ratios are all measured in grams of powder and milliliters of water. I had one artist tell me that “ounces were more accurate.” HOW??? And she didn’t realize that there are ounces of liquid and ounces of weight and that those are different. I mean, specific gravity is measured in grams per milliliter for a reason! And don’t even get me started on using “cups” in cooking…tell me again how I’m supposed to measure a “cup of cilantro leaves” with any accuracy? When I took one of my first construction classes, we spent two whole class periods learning how to convert feet and inches to decimal inches. There was a girl from Norway in the class who just sat back and gave an occasional giggle. And when I hired three guys during the pandemic to help me build a deck, two of them didn’t know how to read or use an imperial tape measure. I literally had to teach them how, and had to come up with workarounds to make it work (pre-cut spacing boards, etc). I helped a friend install baseboards recently, and he was using a metric tape measure. He gifted me a metric tape measure as a thank-you. It’s a life-changer. I will NEVER install trim or baseboards again without one. So yes, you are right. It is ridiculous that we still use that system. If Americans realized how much easier it is to use the metric system, I think we’d all be smarter for it. ❤️

      This is the longest reply to a comment I have ever seen. It is also the best reply ever. In the UK as you know we predominantly use the metric system although we revert back to miles per hour when driving, and still use MPG when calculating fuel efficiency, we haven’t sold gas in gallons for 30 years over here it’s all in litres. Kilometres per litre of fuel makes no sense, miles per litre of fuel is even more confusing, so miles per gallon it is. If I talk to my daughter in miles as a distance she has no idea how far that is, she insists on kilometres, however every road sign is in miles, her car odometer is in miles and her speed is in miles. If I talk to her in inches she says “I have no idea what you are talking about”, if I ask her how she measures her boyfriends (she is a biologist) she immediately says inches! You’ve got to laugh. If you switch to metric in the US you will be confused for the next 100 years (although I agree it’s far easier). 1 litre of water = 1 kilogram, some things are so much more simple. Unfortunately you need to change everything, temperature, weight stone/lbs to kg, distance (miles) to km, inches to millimetres, ounces to grams. It will just never happen. We have only partly changed over here. At least you have always had the decimal system for money in the US, our old English pre decimal system was crazy we had pounds, shillings and pence. In this pre-decimal currency, one pound sterling was divided into twenty shillings, and one shilling into 12 pence. This meant there were 240 pennies to the pound! By the way, a superb video, clearly explained, it’s helped me out to plan my bathroom. Many Thanks.
